Documenting skin tags.
The androgynous adolescent body has been chosen as the canvas for the different variations of Skin tags as it is a body in limbo – not child, not adult and often not a voice that is heard when it speaks – with reference to the Cassandra theory and the works pet name being lady Cassandra.
The lighting in this shoot is soft and warm – homely and comforting - reassuring and nurturing in its warm colour pallet - this is in stark contrast to the alien skin tag on the throat - a vulnerable part of the body and the housing of our voice box. Is the skin tag a bandage? Is it holding in a secret? Or is it a threat? Harmful with its intentions?
